Our name is inspired by the Swedish word “mysa,” which means to relax, get cozy, and enjoy a feeling of warmth, comfort, and togetherness. This perfectly reflects both our family values and the experience of living with a Maine Coon—curling up with a loving, gentle companion who brings pure comfort, joy, and deep connection into your home.

Welcome to Basecamp. We are a small, family-run program nestled in the heart of Arizona, where our deep love for rugged trails meets our passion for the majestic Maine Coon. Our foundation Kings and Queens are hand-selected from European imports and reputable United States pedigree bloodlines. We raise our cats completely integrated under our roof as cherished members of our family, utilizing a unique, cooperative pack structure. Alongside our adult cats and our 90-pound Redbone Coonhound trail boss, we raise our litters communally to ensure every kitten leaves our home exceptionally confident, socialized, and unfazed by large dogs or daily household activities.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide you with your perfect companion—your mysa. We pour our hearts into raising healthy, well-adjusted Scouts that bring a living echo of the untamed wild and a lifetime of cozy contentment straight to your hearth.
